TGT Andy Wilman

Andy Wilman is the producer of The Grand Tour. He is also one of four owners of entertainment company W. Chump and Sons of London, alongside hosts Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May. Prior to this role he had owned BBC subsidiary Bedder 6 alongside Clarkson, but had their majority stake bought out by the BBC in 2012.

Wilman first met Clarkson at Repton School, becoming friends at an early age. After Clarkson became a presenter for the original format of BBC 2's motoring show Top Gear in 1988, succeeding William Woollard as the show's main host in 1991, Wilman joined the production crew at Pebble Mill, becoming producer as well as a part-time presenter, appearing in 35 episodes from 1994 to 2001. When the original format of the show was cancelled, he helped Clarkson to make a new car show for the network after 3 years of temporary retirement. Originally christened Carmageddon, they would end up using the Top Gear name instead as it was unused and connected to a lucrative magazine which sold 170,000 copies per month at the time. The show became a success and a worldwide phenomenon, lasting for 22 seasons before Clarkson was dismissed and the show ended up back in the BBC's hands.
